Icons by Brontëana and Thisbeciel

It looks like most if not all of Blogger was down for most of the day. I posted one of Thisbeciel's wonderful icons as a means of getting Brontëana back online. I am not sure yet if it worked or not. But it does give me an excuse to showcase some of these works of digital art! These all happen to be from Jane Eyre...

by Thisbeciel:

by me:

Hm... I really like using text, especially the Edwardian font. The images are from: Jane Eyre 1973, ", Jane Eyre: The Musical, Jane Eyre 1996, ", ", an illustration I have- date unknown, Jane Eyre 1996, ", Jane Eyre: The Musical. Thanks to Arliamay for the illustration, and Metalkatt for coming up with the caption: 'Did he hit you hard? ...Some "man of God!"

ETA: Now let's try Thisbeciel's animations...(all from Jane Eyre 1973)

ROFL! I never saw the forehead one!

to mysticgypsy:
No problem here! :)

Oh, there are so many more where these came from! These were all from the 'extras' that I made after I finished the Jane Eyre comic book.

to mysticgypsy: As I say, he's such a minx- flashing his forehead around like that. Of course, now with all of the talk of foreheads in JE I will always be reminded of the line from Miss Mix about Miss Mix's "one beauty- a massive, dome-like forehead with shiny temples like polished doornobs of the finest china"

Okay, but it's a long story and a strange one. ;) It all goes back to a really hilarious radio adaptation of Jane Eyre from around the 1950s. It's funny for a lot of reasons, but one of them is the way they keep pressing that Jane Eyre is a creeeeeepy story! To keep everyone in a state of constant terror they keep using the dramatic DUN DUN DUNNN! music. In one scene it goes something like this:

Jane: Hello Mrs. Fairfax.
Mrs. Fairfax: The master would like you to join him for tea.

DUN DUN DUNNN!

Our friend Alisa parodied this and said something like:

'What's so scary about that? The lack of spoons?'

DUN DUN DUNN!

And a running gag was born. Yesterday, in my personal blog, I brought it out again( Thisbeciel: "Did you drop the spoons?!!! OMG! I'm so scared!"). Alisa saw Thisbeciel and playing with it. At this time I came up with:

"The spoon from the darkest depths of Hell! It came over the moors one misty night, hidden under Mr Earnshaw's coat."

I was prepared for a grotesque sketch or something :P..but this is funny too nevertheless.

(although I am not sure if my brain will be scarred hereafter hehe...besides, the images in my head are proving to threaten as much :P)
