More Cast for Jane Eyre 2006
Andrew Buchan is confirmed as our St. John Rivers, according to the productions imdb page, and Bertha Mason will be played by Claudia Coulter, according to M.
If this is the same Andrew Buchan, he has done extensive work with the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, and you can listen to his voice here.

I saw Andrew Buchan at Rada last year, what are the odds?? Was just looking at my London stuff last night, thinking, I hope some of these people get in things I can see soon... (I live in Canada).

Great up-to-date info; where do you find it? So St John and Mr Eshton will really be 2 different persons; now I am really wondering what was meant by "visionary John Eshton" :)

Yes, here in Canada we also miss out on most of the Brontë theatrical productions that seem to be constantly being staged in the UK and the US. I would love to see the Statford Festival stage an adaptation.

I found the casting of St.John through the production's imdb page(They have finally taken the wrong 'Ruth Wilson' down from the cast list, and I hope the right Ruth Wilson will finally get her own page on the site soon). The site does not list Bertha but I trust M not to post something he just made up ;)
Google news is always full of little Bronte mentions, and sometimes interesting things like the latest on the 2006 production.
Does someone know who else auditioned for the role of mr.Rochester?
Aidan McArdle was superb as Stravinsky in 'Riot at the Rite'. He seemed like a great character actor. This leads me to believe that his Mr.Eshton chracter may play a larger role in this version. Hmm..

This might be a silly question, but how can Americans view the new 2006 film version of Jane Eyre? I have seen many adaptations of the beloved book (it is my absolute favorite novel) and I saw the 1997 British version with Samantha Morton as Jane because it aired here in America...but I haven't heard anything about this version here yet.

Not a silly question at all. On a previous post I reposted old information from several months ago, back when the production was still only known through two or three sentences which all simply said: "new BBC Jane Eyre." The info is that Masterpiece Theater said that they would be airing "a new production of Jane Eyre in 2007." I am assuming that this 'new production' and that 'new production' (the BBC one we are following right now), are the same. So it should be available on MT in the US probably in early 2007- would be my guess.
