Radio Times Call for UK Readers
Here's another job for someone in the UK. Alison writes to tell us of this week's issue of Radio Times, featuring this cover. Inside, we are told, is a discussion of whether or not Jane Eyre is 'still relevant for the iPod generation, and a somewhat late (?) 'report from the set in Derbyshire.' If someone would like to scan or transcribe these for us, I and your fellow readers would be grateful.
(My iPod is named Charlotte by the way... and happens to be crammed with musical adaptations of Jane Eyre, so my answer would then be... uhm... yes?).

Well, he's got Jane, of course he's smug!
It reminds me just a bit of some of those musicals... Rochester Triumphant but also the end of the proposal from a live recording in Toronto. It sounds like Jane might have clung to him when the lightning flashed one last time (we hear a suspicious sort of 'eek!') and then he starts laughing boisterously. :D

Jane never eeks, she's far too hardy and sensible for that, she may have coolly raised one eyebrow. I suspect Rochester may have pinched her. The wag.

I do have one qualm about the pose - what is Jane's hand doing on his stomach?? It's almost like Rochester is pregnant and Jane is the proud... father???

Are you suggesting minxery? ...Well, seeing how she pounces on Rochester in the La Jolla clip, I wouldn't put it past her.
What's this I hear about sobbing? I found that to be one of the saddest parts of the book, and if done well on film, it would be incredible to witness. I pray it isn't done with the silliness of Timothy Dalton. Such a false, staged act of weeping. And what was with the hand on his forehead thing? I was laughing at him, when my heart should have been breaking as it does when I read it in the novel. I hope Toby doesn't let me down here.
By and by, I liked the costumes in the picture of Radio Times. Silly poses aside, I find Toby quite dashing in that suit. So much better than the ridculous blue thing worn by Timothy Dalton. And, I love the dress on Ruth. Simple and elegant, not like the dowdy off-white things worn in some other productions.
Was that their wedding photo? If so,which one? :P

Sorry! I was referring to the musical (you can hear some of the sobbing in the clips that I posted in the comments above). I don't know if they've cut the sobbing out of the new BBC film or not but I agree- those moments are heartbreaking in the novel.

Hmph! Well, clearly Mr. Stephens is not hideous and blind and it looks like he has both of his hands so I would guess the 1st one. But given the implications of the comments above, I think that would be quite shocking ;)
I would say that the costumes are from the aborted wedding, because if you look closely at the trailer, you can see Toby wearing that same suit, and in those brief scenes, he clearly isn't blind or maimed.
