'Hot Furry Sex' novel by Charlotte Bronte

My vendetta against Chapters Canada has more fuel for its fires thanks to Bronteana reader Sarah who wrote in to tell me that Charlotte Bronte has published a new novel! Confused? I know I was especially because the name on the book jacket clearly is not 'Charlotte Bronte' unless you can spell 'Charlotte Bronte' 'Lorie O'Clare.'

The book is called 'In her Nature' and features a muscled, barechested blond man clutching a writhing and buxom woman to his almost as boutiful and heaving bosom. The book is the fourth of a series called Lunewulf, a werewolf romance fantasy series! The other books include: 'Bitten (Moon Lust)', 'In Her Blood', 'Wolf's Passion,' 'Scent of Passion.'

A reader review of another book in the series proclaims it: " A great read for anyone who enjoys a good love story with hot and furry sex!"

And um..what is the connection to Bronte? Or did they mean to connect her with explosive sex?

I have no idea why they listed it as being written by Charlotte. I cannot think of anything remotely... okay, Mr Rochester does have sideburns like any other self-respecting Victorian man but I'd hardly call him 'furry.'

Except for Mr Rochester the cat but I don't think they can make that connection. I hate Chapters...

"Except for Mr Rochester the cat"
OMG! When did Rochester become a cat?? What is the story behind that!!! Do tell! :D

If you type in 'Mr Rochester' for a google image search you get pictures of a cat named Mr Rochester. :D

We've seen a blond Jane but it never occured to me to give equal time to a blond/buxom Rochester....who is a werewolf....

I think that kudos really ought to be given to that reviewer: "hot and furry sex" indeed. I burst out laughing.

The mind is not only boggling, but is also going ew :P

(sorry to the lower the tone, but isn't human on werewolf illegal? Maybe only in some states...)

I'm still working on a worst adaptation of JE ever with a writer friend of mine. We started off wondering what changes Disney would have made. One of the most obvious was that Bertha had to go, so the alternative was- so we thought- that Mr Rochester would be enchanted and have an evil twin. So, in fact, the REAL Mr Rochester would be Pilot. There would also be a wisecracking cat named Sammy to help lighten the mood. Once Mr Rochester became human again, he and Rowland would have a last climactic battle on the flaming roof of Thornfield.

We could also make him blond, I suppose. ;) Yes, why not. Oh, I recall my friend also laid down this rule: "He shall not prance but pish, pshaw, and toss his head like a stallion!"

I am not the one to ask. But if I read the synopses of the series correctly, the books are about romances within the 'society' of werewolves. One book is about a female werewolf who defies the marriage customs of her pack and runs away into the... uhm... paws of a 'huge alpha male' from another pack. He dominates her. There is furry sex (that's the book I got the review from as there are none for 'In Her Nature.'

I wonder how long it will take Chapters to realise the mistake... It took them a long time to fix the title of a book written by the Pope. It said 'Deo Carnitas Est' which means 'God is Meat.' They meant Deo Caritas Est: God is Love. There are still icons and things with cans of spam doctored up...

And surely there would be music...whether the jaunty tunes as in the vein of the 7 dwarves or maybe Sir Elton could pen a tune for you!

And we could even have a dance techno remix for the special edition!
