thanks penny and Bronteana!
These scenes, though... Look pretty bad. lol Snarkable indeed. Rochester's locuacity has deteriorated even further. 'Imagine a restaurant- no, a meeting place- no... a... uhhh...There isn't really a word for this sort of place.' I'm waiting for him to say 'imagine a thingy.' ;)
I had no idea what he was talking about, there!
And I’m glad the book scene was cut out, Jane having a *special* book seems awfully cheesy.
What might be with that restaurant thingy, what do you think? Could it be in the 3rd part instead of carriage conversation? Do you remember something similar in the book?
I was wondering if they really cut the book scene or it is to come in the next episode :)
Ha!Ha! Just crossed my mind that Mr R might have been referring to a bawdyhouse :) It is synomymous in some web dictionaries with that seraglio that Bronte was talking about in her book. We might have a really minxy Rochester after all!
Is Jane holding a laptop in the first pic? She might be surfing this site!!
Kayxyz: We know she reads Bronteblog, so why not this site too!
Bronteana:
I think perhaps Rochester's loquacity (?), was being compromised due to the fly that was trying to get on tv and constantly head butting him. It actually sounded more like Toby was adlibbing or improvising. Liked his fierce, "Shut up, or I'll send you to school in the morning!"
to liz:
I'm not sure if they have cut these scenes, and besides we're getting all of the deleted scenes on the DVD! Lucky us ;)
to siansaska:
I think it might turn up later. And I don't recall anything from the novel that would match that scene...
to siansaska:
I suppose that would make some sense, but would he really want Adele to imagine such a thing? ...
to kayxyz:
Penny was just saying how nice Jane's mahogany laptop is ;)
to penny:
You're probably right. But then, he loves insects. Perhaps he was being distracted by thoughts of adding it to his collection.
Re: reading this site. I think I'm probably 'obsessive pedantic blogger' since it is my job, as a grad student, to be obsessive and pedantic!
I say i don't know why I can't find North and South, by Elizabeth Gaskell, in my library.
I downloaded the file but for some reason none of my media players will let me watch it - they keep telling me it isn't actually a .mpg file. May I ask which program you used to view it?
That is very odd! I used Windows Media Player.
Finally i d/l'ed the clip. Awesome.
